PURCHASING COORDINATOR / BUYER
Boating knowledge & purchasing experience required. Work with marine Product Managers on new products, expediting, returns, inventory planning, resolving receiving & pricing issues, etc. Must be detailed with excellent communications & computer skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through consistent communication and follow-up with vendors.
- Under the direction of Product managers, re-buy merchandise to support corporate goals.
- Set up new SKU’s as directed by Product Managers.
- Manage vendor quotes for assigned lines: ensure timely receipt of vendor pricing, prepare vendor quotes and update shared databases.
- Process vendor returns; track and report on vendor product quality issues.
- Research and resolve receiving issues; track and report on vendor performance.
- Work on special projects as assigned by Product Managers or Management.
- Assist Product Managers in researching and recommending new lines and products for resale.
Skills Summary:
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal business partners as well as external vendors.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and purchasing/inventory management systems a must.
- Team player who can work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Boating experience
